I am a Buddhist myself, and I think that headline is discriminating too. I may be American, but I agree with Thew in every way. Some Americans like me dont even believe in god, and why should he bless only America? Canada pwns too!

the problem i have with the headline ill say it again is that it fails to mourn everyone who died to me it only mourns the americans not the canadians,britons, yugoslavians that died in the attack

You can't tell me that if this happened elsewhere that the headline wouldn't be the same. It is in no way saying don't mourn non Americans. That is unintelligently over analyzing what's being said. You can mourn everyone. And the headline is not saying God Bless the Americans... it is God Bless America, the country that was attacked. News doesn't say that over 3,000 Americans were killed, no it says over 3.000 people and that includes people of all race, nationality, sex, religion, sexuality.... that means all the people that were in it whether American or not. The headline is a reflection fo the coutnry being attacked not the people who died within it so the argument you have doesn not stand up. If it was talking only about American citizens then it would say "God Bless the American People." The country is more than just it's citizens, it's a symbol of all of our hopes and dreams, beliefs, freedoms, and everything that we have and that is worth fighting for... not just the people. So God Bless America is saying much more than "remember the Americans who died."

Secondly, if you don't like the mention of God in the headline, too bad. This country was founded on the belief in God and the majority of the country does in fact believe in God. It's people who say they are offended so damn easily and don't have a backbone that take the freedoms that this country, or any country for that matter, has and flushes them down the toilet. Fine you don't believe in God, but saying a timeless saying like God Bless American in no way shape or form SHOULD offend anyone. You are taking a phrase of inspiration to so many people and you are saying that this is wrong and you pick apart little things so that 1. You can have attention, whether is be nationalism or religion, or 2. You are whacking your pud and got bored and decided might as well since there is nothing better to do.

So if you don't like the AMerican headline that sais God Bless America, then you are ignorant for judging the headline from a country, about that same country that had an act of terror happen upon it's soil, and not on Candian or any other countries soil. Maybe the other terrorist events aren't as well known here as this dwarfs most media attention because it happened on home soil. But don't think for a second that any other attack on other countries don't piss me off just as much as it does here and until more of you out there think together like this and showing one front instead of picking apart headlines that happen within the country, then terrorism will only grow and it succeed in seperating countries and causing the problems that it sets out to do. Maybe you should keep that in mind before anyone rushes out to pick apart something as simple as a news headline. YOu are only letting terrorism dig it's roots deeper and strengthen it's hold.
