Re: Another Bad Experience With A Cop

I agree with Dakstang on one point.

If a cop disrespects me, I have no issue showing no respect towards him.

However, if a cop is polite, I tend to be polite back.

As far as jurisdictional grievances go. I dunno. I have no issue with it really. If a city cop sees a car jacking on the highway, is he supposed to just go past it and wait for the state trooper because it's not his jurisdiction?

I dunno.

Just as Day and Night are both parts of the day

Speeding and carjacking are both crimes.

I doubt you will ever go off on any officer... until you get on the computer and can cry about it over and over again.

BTW... I think you are intellegent enough to know not to jump on an officer. ;)
Yes. That is rare around here. It would have to take quite a large city for a Cop to have a College education. The police force that this was involved in this case was like a 4 man force. So they don't get paid enough to have College Degrees.

I have never screamed at a Policeman and there have been some that have been very nice.

Normally you would be correct sir. But a person can only be pushed so far before they snap.

As for the other two comments, I don't know about your country but here in America we have rights. When those rights are violated it tends to piss me off. My ancestors fought and died so we don't have to be harassed like this.
This makes no sense. So even if a policeman pulled you over who was in his jurisdiction because you were speeding, you would have still complained? Thats just retarded, you were speeding and breaking the law, what do you have to complain about?

Also where in the constitution does it say you have to right to break the law and get away with it, I must have missed that section.

What am I supposed to do when I get pulled over? Feel good about it? A lot of people complain about being pulled over. I would have just vented a little and went on.

The Constitution guarantees due process of law and it is against the law for a City policeman to pull someone over out of his juridiction. If the offense occurred within city limits and he chased me outside of city limits, that would have been perfectly acceptable. But that was not the case. So if my Constitutional Rights were violated, I have every right to be pissed off.

Policeman just can't go around doing whatever they want to do. They have to abide by the law.

So do you. Speeding is breaking the law. Do you really expect a police officer to see a robbery in progress & just say, oh well its out of my juridiction, i better not do anything. Of course you dont. Speeding is dangerous, Speeding & Dangerous Driving are offences. Overtaking a police officer while speeding is just stupid & asking for trouble.

You should be thankful he let you off easy not come on here & cry.

He did not let me off with anything. He was not in his jurisdiction so he could not write me a ticket. That is the whole point of this. Comparing an armed robbery with going 10 miles over the speed limit is completely ridiculous. Comparing a minor citation to a felony? Come on you are smarter than that...I hope.

Policeman are held to a higher standard than citizens, and for good reason. They are representatives of our government and our justice system. So for a policeman to do something illegal is much worse than a citizen doing something illegal.

Re: Another Bad Experience With A Cop

Its still illegal!! What do you not get about that? Going over the speed limit wherever you are is illegal. If a police officer see's a crime being commited it would be irresponsible for him to ignore it.

IT IS AGAINST THE LAW FOR HIM TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. WHAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT?

There are jurisidictions for a reason. When you are out of your jurisdiction you have no authority to enforce the law...especially minor traffic offenses. State Police have jurisdiction all over the state. City police have jurisdiction with their CITY! Do you understand?
