I always get so worried at the Instant Oil Change places.

I like to change my own oil, sometimes I'm lazy, sometimes it's too friggin' cold so I pay people to do it. Today was one of those days.

I get so worried they're going to screw up and drain my transmission fluid, put the oil where the antifreeze goes, stick sugar in my gas tank. I have to talk myself into letting these people touch my car every time.

Anyone else suffer from this?

I used, to and I know some people who have bad experiences with it.

I haven't changed my own oil in three years now though. I just don't have the time.

i have the time im just lazy, i go to walmart and let them do it usually, its faily cheap and they will vaccuum the inside of my car and all that goodness

I was thinking about this earlier today (getting my oil changed, that is) as it's definitely due.

I always go to this same place, cause it's the only one around. And the way this one works, you stay in your car while they change your oil. So it's more of an opportunity for them to sell you on more shit, since you're just sitting right there. No matter how long it's been since my last oil change, they always scold me that I waited too long.

Come on guys, be real with me...6,000 miles is enough between oil changes, right? I mean, 3,000 miles doesn't warrant a change. Now I go by what my Onstar Diagnostics system tells me, so it's typically every 6k miles or so.

I usually go about every 5k with synthetic oil. If you're putting the natural stuff in, 3k is about the limit, for normal driving. If all you do highway stuff, then hell, you could probably go 6-7k without problem.

It's the fluctuating RPM's that are hard on cars.

Well with my gf's new car, well next to new '06 focus with 25k, I try to get it in after 3k miles. I need to get the tires changed though, one has a plug, I don't trust those all that much

lol i got a plug in one of my tires. cuz where i work there seems to be nails everywhere and ive managaed to get fuckin 4 flat tires in 2 years. fuckin ridiculous. the best was i bought new tires then fuckin 2 weeks later i get a damn fuckin nail.

but back on the subject i usually go every 3-4k miles. depends when im off and feel like brining the car down
