Besides playing the game of "Who can punt Mittens the furthest across my backyard?"
My buddy has 3, count em THREE cats. Last night we were over his house playing poker in his basement, and the cats wouldn't stop coming down and jumping on the card table. Then all their food is in the basement, and it smells like my crotch. So everytime this thing jumped on a table, a chair, biting a cord or string, my buddy would scream for it to stop it and go away.
It was pretty much the worst poker night ever.
Also, why must people insist on having more than one cat? Why not just one? One is a big enough pain in the ass.
I'd just love for someone to explain to me some benefits (or even just one) of having a cat, because the things are fucking pointless.

They are medically good for you since they calm you and your heartbeat/stress levels when you're stroking them.
Cat's do not have to have a huge amount of time invested in them either, unlike dogs that require walking and "exercise".
If I were single, I would have a cat, a dog would be too much work and infringe too much on my life. A cat you can just leave with a neighbour dropping by to leave food out.
They are also a gazillion times less "fucking pointless" than General Discussion mods!

I only have one cat but my girlfriend has about a dozen cats... seriously.
As far as thier usefulness... a cat will keep mice, lizards, and other things like that away. A cat is also a lot easier to take care of then a dog aswell. I mean they can just use the litter box and let you sleep while a dog on the other hand will bark and raise hell until you wake up... or they may just shit in the floor which is a pain in the ass to clean up.
I think cats are pretty cool. It's all about how you raise them too. You can have one of those cheesy cats that just hides whenever people are around and only come out when you are the only ones in the house. Those type of cats are useless.
I like the ones that just chill out like dogs and like to play.
Cats kick ass, but I see the need to only have 1 or maybe 2 if you have a big house. Let them go ouside to go to the bathroom and fight a little.
But the worst are "Cat ladies" who talk about their cats like they are human children.
