Crying Getting a colonoscopy tommorrow
I'm having this procedure done because I have Crohns Disease. I have to start the prep in one hour and I'm not looking forward to it. You have to drink this stuff called magnesium citrate. It makes you shit your brains out, so much so that in the directions it says to buy vasaline to apply to your rectum incase it gets sore. I know its gross but maybe some of you have had a colonoscopy and have some advice or maybe you will need to get one in the future and this will be of help. I will keep you updated on how my prep is going Ughh!!

My cousin has Crohns Disease, that is a really bad illness.

I had a colonoscopy last year. The preparation was definitely worse than the actual procedure. I still feel ill if I smell something that's similar to the drinky stuff. Bleurgh!

Thanks Dak, well so far today I have been on a clear liquid diet, (jello, sprite, gatorade) And I just choked down 1 and 1/2 bottles of magnesium Citrate (half boy was right it is beyond nasty) now I am waiting for the fireworks so far I have felt nothing. I have 1 1/2 more bottles to drink.

I had to drink about 8 litres of it, so if you only have two and a half botles, you're lucky!

Sorry jayman, I finally released the pressure, it took 3 and1/2 hours for the drink to kick in. Now I have to drink the other half in about an hour, I'm dreading it, but it is not as bad as I anticipated so far.
