Crying Close Call...
So my old place of work was armed robbed last night. 4 guys hid out the back of the store until closing and then came running in with baseball bats. They hit some of the staff with the bats and threw others to the floor. They went into the office and held the manager on duty, a friend of mine, at knife point. They emptied the safe and fled the building.

Ive only been gone from this store for 4 months and its scary to think it could have been me. Noone was seriously hurt thank god, but its one of those things that you always think will never happen in your life. It always happens to someone else.

Anyone else ever had anything like this happen to them or someone they know?

It was poor Guv on his second shift back after a month in India. Hes pretty bad at the mo, cant stop shaking apparantly.

They threw Nadia and Jonny to the floor, and hit some new kid Danny with the bat. Rahul was there but escaped unharmed. It was at 11:15 so only the closers were there. This Danny was in the crew room after finishing at 11.

The security in that place really is atrocious though. The video system is a joke. If the police get even the slightest clue from it, I'd be very surprised.

The video system I totally agree but come on....there was nothing else anyone could do really. The door by the toilets should have a code on it, but the stupid health and safety people would argue that it was a fire hazard to have that door locked. Theres no way of stopping people going up that corridoor.

Oh yeah, I'm not saying that, but people don't shut the back door. If it was kept shut, and checked out anytime the alarm went off without a back door yell, you'd have a better chance of avoiding people hiding.

Sounds crazy.. First of all Thank God you weren't working there anymore and hopefully everyone will be able to recover from this.

I've never had a place of work robbed before.. usually around here it's convenient stores and banks.
