| Are jeans becoming "dressy?" Simply topic. But I have noticed that some people are beginning to use dark wash jeans in replacement for dress pants. Are they a suitable replacement? In my opinion they are not. Last edited by Inogenius; 11-15-2007 at 09:05 PM. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Are jeans becoming "dressy?" they are becoming dressy because it's a Hollywood trend to wear them everywhere! I don't agree with it either but hey.. if some dumb broad wants me to wear jeans instead when we go out, all I'm for it.. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Are jeans becoming "dressy?" I remember a few years back people started wearing dark blue jeans with a t-shirt and a suit jacket. I thought it looked nice, but how "dressy' can jeans be? If you wear them with black dress shoes and a nice belt, you can get pretty close. But I don't think they are acceptable like black slacks are, for example. I could never get away with wearing jeans at work, so for that reason I can't say it's that dressy. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Are jeans becoming "dressy?" I hate it. Depends on the situation though. If its somewhere informal but you still want to look nice, then jeans and a smart shirt are fine. But anywhere else, its a no go. Clubs and bars used to have a dress code that included no denim, therefore everyone looked dressed up - I liked it. Now you can go out in jeans and a t shirt which looks like youve made no effort whatsoever. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Are jeans becoming "dressy?" The buisness world is run by traditional people. And in buisness school they continue to drive into your brain that jeans are not acceptable so the trend will continue. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Are jeans becoming "dressy?" I have some really dark jeans that I wear when I go out to a nice place. I think jeans can be a little dressy if use right. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Are jeans becoming "dressy?" I'm one of those Jeans are dressy people. I'm a t-shirt and jeans guy anyhow. I hate wearing monkey suits BUT I do wear a suit when appropriate.. Mainly weddings and funerals or if I'm DJing a black tie affair. For the most part I'm always in a t-shirt in jeans. If I'm going to the mall or a casual restaurant I'll wear dark blue jeans a three button collared shirt. If I've going some where more uppity but I don't quite know what to wear as I don't want to be over dressed, it's black jeans and a button down. When i'm just running around town it's cargo sweats and a tee but I hate soft pants.. things just don't sit right inside of them. I stay far away from dress slacks, I hate them.. ![]() | |||||||||||||||
