| Marathon? Has anyone dear even train for a marathon, or at least put thought into doing so? I've always wanted to do something like that, but never had the commitment to go through with it. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Marathon? I've never ran for one. But, I played Soccer. It's basically a marathon. Run, far. Every day. Along with that, you're really going to want to work out the calfs, hamstrings & quads. Don't strength train. Do a lot of reps. I'd recommend doing 3 sets, first for 10, second for 20, and then another 10. That second set, you could probably bump it up 20 lbs. You'll burn a lot of calories that way too. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Marathon? As I said in the other running thread, I've done a half marathon. I would love to do a full one. I need to get much much fitter than I am now for that though, maybe one in 2009 would be on. I love the idea of doing some from around the world. The NYC one looks great, and I love being there, but it's a little too challenging for my taste maybe (it's a course with a lot of hills!), London is pretty fast as a course but it's so local I don't know if I wan't that to be my first one. Boston used to have a good one, I don't know if they still run it. I think my favourite would be Amsterdam. It's a real flat course (obviously) plus I could smoke myself into oblivion to relieve the pain after. | |||||||||||||||
