This is a discussion on Is it all Bush's fault? within the General Discussion forums, part of the Non Wrestling Forums category; I have always been a supporter for Bush. I never understood all the hate for him.
But my question is ...

Well it depends on what you consider to be better off.
We would most likely not be in War right now so we would be better off on that end. The price of gas would probably be no where near as high as it is now, and the value of the dollar would probably not be at the lowest point in decades. We also would not have the Patriot Act chipping away at our feedoms a little at a time.
But on moral issues, we would probably be worse off. President Bush has been able to nominate two judges I believe to the Supreme Court and he nominated some very Conservative judges which could have a huge impact for the next 20 to 30 years or more.
So I can see some positives from President Bush, but it seems the negatives far out weight the positives. I guess it depends on what is more important to you.

I think that when all is said and done, Bush will be viewed as one of the worst presidents we ever had.
I usually dont listen to media blowhards all that mch, but Keith Olberman had one of the best points about Bush's tenure that I've ever heard.
Following 9/11, Bush had the support of the entire free world. He had so much goodwill worldwide, it was ridiculous. And within a few years, he absolutely squandered it. He could have really made a positive difference in the world and worked with global leaders to achieve positive results, and instead he took a "yee-haw!"/cowboy/"Dont mess with Texas"/macho attitude and alienated ourselves from the rest of the world. Think about that. We were the victims of one of the most sympathetic events in recent history, and within 2 or 3 years we went back to being viewed as the world's bully.
Here's another story I'll tell you. I have a friend from high school who served in the Marines. He's the most patriotic guy I know. He as the American flag tattooed on his shoulder. During the Iraq war, he was stationed in Saudi Arabia. If anybody I know would defend Bush, it's him. And this is what he told me on Sunday: "You know, I used to really defend Bush, and do it often. But the more I stop and look at his record as President, the more I realize how badly he screwed and what a horrible president he's been."
It's more than just the war. The government's response to Hurricane Katrina was absolutely reprehensible. His handling of the economy hasnt exactly been stellar either. His role as a figurehead for the country hasnt exactly been executed very well either...much of the world seems his a dim-witted, war-mongering, hick

..and they aren't wrong about that. That's not to say I don't want someone in power who will take steps against terrorist organizations, but that's not what Bush did is it.. Everyone was on board when he was targeting the Taliban, Osama, and co.. but when we went to Iraq I quickly said to myself "wtf are we getting into?" ..the rest is history.
Exactly, the handling of 9/11 seemed fine until we somehow ended up in Iraq and gas prices ended up spiked. I don't think 9/11 was a conspiracy, but I think Bush and Cheney played it to their advantage.
