Oh the horror of the STI screen....
So being the responsible being that I am, I thought it was about time that I got myself checked out, just to be on the safe side, I might add, and endured the horror of the tests.

Not too bad I suppose, just uncomfortable having someone poking around your bits - please ignore all the jokes that Im sure are dying to come out now, I know you all too well - the worse part is the wait.

Anyone else had any of these? For peace of mind, or cause you were a little scared?

I had one done a few years back, I was really nervous, but theres no problems down there

I haven't had one done because I haven't slept with anyone that could possibly have had anything.
Although I did do one of those chylamidia tests from Boots that you send away and get the results via email. That was fun.

My friend once had one done years ago and they never rung her back...which means you're clear. Then they rung up a few months later and said 'oh, sorry, we got your results mixed up with someone else...you've got chylamidia.' How appalling is that?!?!

The term STI officially replaced STD a few years back.

My girlfriend and I had a scare last year when her results came back about a month after her check-up and they thought they'd found some precancerous cells. When she went back in for a colposcopy (which is like a really nasty pap smear), she checked out just fine.

Yeah it was here too, until recently. They changed it cause they thought infection was a more appropriate term, cause they majority of them are treated and then disappear, unlike a disease.
