| Re: Oh the horror of the STI screen.... I think in the US "STD" is still the preferred nomenclature I got tested for HIV and Herpes twice...clean both times. And i've never shown symptoms of anything else Once of my friends had chlamydia. He just had to take some antibiotics. Chlamydia was actually the subject of one of my favorite jokes from 40-year old virgin. "There are a lot of things about a virgin that a woman would like" "Yeah, like what?" | Re: Oh the horror of the STI screen.... You may have asked yourself why we use the term sexually transmitted infection (STI), instead of the term sexually transmitted disease (STD). The term "infection" more accurately describes conditions where sexual partners may not have symptoms and may not be aware that they have an infection, and because many of these infections are actually curable. The term "infection" carries less of a social stigma than the term "disease."
