Exactly. Which also means showing and teaching the kids about those differences in the first place.

It's ludicrous to think that 11-year-olds shouldn't be taught about homosexuality -- especially since kids that age are first becoming truly hormonal, and some may well be gay themselves.

But they may. I believe you dont choose to be gay so if they grow up having it drilled into them "Its wrong! Its wrong!" can you imagine how that poor child will feel?

My belief is that no one is born gay.

That is why I believe teaching kids about what gay is before they are old enough is so dangerous.

Regardless of your feelings about homosexuality being unnatural (where we clearly disagree), did you not have sexual feelings by the time you were 11? I know I did, and had been for a couple years. And these days, whether it's the hormones being injected into milk and other foods, or the media's portrayal of sex everywhere, kids are growing up faster and faster.

In which case, why is it so -inducing to think this 11-year-old boy could be gay himself?

11 is a bit on the young side I think.

12 is more like it.

Which that is not really that much of a difference though.

You say that theres not much difference between 11 and 12? So why say that 12 would be better than 11? Freak is totally right in kids having sexual feelings younger and younger these days, who knows why, maybe the media and society and while thats another matter that totally pisses me off, even if you dont like it, you have to accept that its the way of the world.

I don't think you should tell kids about anything until they ask for the risk of telling them before they are ready to know.

If one has a good relationship with their kids, when they get curious about something they will ask more than likely. If not I say 12 is about that age that the normal talk on sex should happen and homosexuality should be covered in that talk.

Why should foster parents be forced to talk about homosexuality? My parents didn't teach me about it. My parents didn't teach me about sex in general. I learned from sex ed in school, as well as movies and tv and just plain common sense. If they can force foster parents to teach that, then beware! Before long, they will regulate what you can and cannot teach your own biological children.
