thinking Déj. vu

Have you ever had one of those moments in time where you could have swore you’ve done or seen something before?

Is it a magically experience brought on by some computer generated dream world? Is it God playing with your head? Is it just you reading into the situation too much and trying to see something that isn’t occurring? Are you old like Tyler Durden and have begun losing your mind?

Let me explain my most recent experience with these odd moments and then I’ll get to my feelings on the matter.

I was in the middle of a business meeting this past week when we began discussing a pending proposal for an upcoming project. One of my coworkers brought up the subject of funding and began leaning back in her chair. She proceeded to slip and hit the floor.

Now, after helping her up and watching her turn red repeatedly I kept getting the feeling to myself that this had happened before. I don’t mean this woman had a tendency to bust her ass on the floor, I mean I remembered the same experience two weeks prior.

The smells, the noises, the situation were all the same. I even said the dreaded phrase aloud “Déj. vu.”

Now, my personal feelings on these situations and why they occur is the following:

Somewhere along the line of your daily habits and travels you have experienced something similar to what is occurring. Your mind takes these elements and places them together when one or more occur in a different situation.

This is my best guess. Do I really believe something more here is going on? Who’s to say but I’d rather believe in the logical and not be called senile Joe for believing the illogical.

So, let’s hear some more stories on this topic? Anyone else out there have some feelings or experiences to share on the matter?

Re: Déj. vu

I have had it many times.. I cant really remember any stories to tell or anythig like that though. It just happens every now and again. Where I will be like whoa, deja vu.. Its a pretty weird feeling.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for or not, but here goes.

I have a lot of experiences where something very obscure will be brought up several times in day. I will hear a song or something that I haven't heard or thought about for years and then later that night I will be watching a t.v. show or movie and a someone on the show mentionsthe song. Pretty weird.

Re: Déj. vu

Yes, happens to me quite frequently. I'll be sitting somewhere or someone will say something and I'll think "hasn't this already happened".
