Some "RV" suggested routes

I am considering taking the family, possibly my own, across America next year. I fully anticipate conquering your land and once again, planting my glorious flag into your firm young American butts (that was a metaphor!) and raising taxes for all of you.

However, what I firstly want to know is where should I go and what shouldn't I miss on my journey.

The one that appeals most at the moment is the Chicago down toward Grand Canyon ending up in Los Angeles vis Las Vegas route.

But am I missing somewhere that would be a vast improvement on this route?

And Jackie, if I stop by wherever the hell you live, what time could I get there to avoid the "giant" but not avoid the "funbags"?

What in Chicago do you want to see exactly?

Not that it's a boring town, but other than going to the bars, I'm not sure what the attraction would be for a family of 4.

Go to Michigan as well. Ask to see "Jayman" and you can take a picture of the worldest biggest schlong.

And now, here it is...your moment of Carlin (10/14/2008)

ORGAN DONOR PROGRAMS

I'm not too enthusiastic about this organ donor idea. What bothers me most is that it's run by the Motor Vehicles Bureau. I figure if I have to wait that long for a kidney, fuck it. I'll do without.

I am going to get called a homer for this, but you should definitely drive through some of the Appalachian Mountain range. Here is a pic of where the range runs.

If you should happen to want to come to the Greatest State in the Union, West Virginia, you should see the New River Gorge which is one of the oldest rivers on the continent.

Here is a link if you are interested.

Re: Some "RV" suggested routes

I like the idea. But everything in between Chicago and the Grand Canyon is terribly boring. Unless you like cow farms, of course.

I would think it might be better starting off somewhere like Los Angeles, where you could then to go Las Vegas or Arizona/Texas. Keep in mind though, these would be about day long drives. If you go to Vegas, you could then stop by areas like Portland and Seattle. The mountains and attractions there the kids would find interesting. If you decide to go to Arizona/Texas, you could then go to New Orleans and to Florida (and the grand canyon on the way!). At that point you could drive up the eastern seaboard; ending in a place like myrtle beach would be a freaking amazing trip.
