My dad had a good job but it never provided dental insurance. With four kids that made it almost impossible to be able to take all of them to the dentist. The closest dentist was also about 60 miles away. I still don't have any dental insurance and I have never had a problem with any of my teeth so I have no reason to go spend a bunch of money on services that I consider to be worthless. If I have made it 25 years without going to the dentist with no problems, I don't see any reason in going now.

I suppose that is fair enough. I know i'm going to be seeing the dentist a few times next year, it'll be just my luck that my wisdom teeth (which are coming through) will cause me some problems.

I had my wisdom teeth out last year and I swelled up so much. I had a huge brick head.

I go to the dentist every 6 months. Always have, always will. I've never had any big issues with my teeth. When I was in middle school I had braces, and that made them perdy.

Also got my wisdom teeth pulled out (ALL were impacted -- ow..) about 3 years ago now. I looked like a balloon.

I havent been in a couple years. Last time I went it was a oral surgeon. I have a tooth removed. That tooth have 5, count 'em 5, yep 5, roots, instead of the normal 2 roots. I don't mind them that much, I hate the scrapings, and drills. But it's not horrific

I go to the dentist every two months because I still have braces.. I don't mind it, my dentist has a nice clinic.

I was suprised to see all the Brits that responded to this question. I was under the impression they used hammers and icepicks on your teeth from all the photos and video I have seen of British people.

I bring this thread back from a few weeks ago because my shit dentist (who I have since stopped going to because she sucked at her profession) told me a few months ago that I cracked one of my molars.

Now the past couple weeks it has been KILLING me. Hot and cold cant go near it and there is ZERO chance of chewing with it. It recently turned gray too so me thinks that either means root canal or pulling it.

Fuck............. Toothaches are just "pfft, dont be a pussy" until you actually get one. It sucks my ass hard.

I also bring this thread back because I didnt see it the first time. hahaha.

On an interesting note, my Dentist is also the dentist of the local jail that my Dad worked at until he retired. He also used to play football with my Dad in highschool. The guy is a beast, the mask barely covers his mouth.
