So, I think this is good news

I am about to come into a promotion at work (CVS/Pharmacy), to become a supervisor. I could probably talk them into giving me a 3 to 4 dollar raise, $12-$13 an hour. I'd be running the store essentially. That's what I want, a lead role, some authority and control in the store. I've only been working there since the beginning of february, so this came along pretty quick. I think that eventually I could make an assistant manager position.

On the other hand, I just got the other day a letter informing me that I have been picked to take a test to become a proud MBTA bus driver. Yes, that's right, I will become the next Rambo. Minus the gambling and drunken nights. I go this saturday, the 8th, to take the test. I'm not sure when I'll find out if I get a job. But I hope by them time winter comes I'll have enough money saved up to get a vehicle that will atleast last thru the winter, so I could then save up to afford a better vehicle. Also, I wanna move out of this hell hole that is the stoneham housing authority, AKA the PJ's, AKA the projects. IDK if I'll be making enought to be able to afford to rent a house, or if I could only afford to rent an apartment. I don't wanna leave my mother and sister in the dust, ya know? But if I stay then when we sign the new lease next year our rent will go double. It's only $300 a month at the moment, but with the combined income of $1,960 a month, we can barely afford all of the bills. If I get the job at the MBTA the rent will be atleast double.

In short, all I know is that my life is about to get a little better. It's going to help me out alot with my stress I hope. Just wish me luck on not getting shot down in Roxbury, Mattapan or Dorchester.

good stuff. the only good thing about the t is when you first start you make the same amount for the first 2 years which kinda sucks but would probably keep the rent down. when you go f/t like i am thats when you'd get screwed cuz you start making some dough.
