What do you do when your ex's contact you?
I've spent the past week trying to figure out what to do about an email my ex-girlfriend sent me last Thursday asking "so what's new in life?"

Normally I wouldn't have froze like I did, but I've been with my current girlfriend for two and a half years and it's gotten to this point where I feel really *stuck* at times in my relationship... and then this girl who broke my heart and who I never got over just asks, "so what's new in life"

What the fuck!

My ex I broke up with 3 months ago used to live with me, and we dated for almost 2 years. And we ended kinda badly, so she tries to call now and again to try and hang out, which I usually brush off.

If its someone you spent awhile with its fuckin weird when they call, dont know why.....

She wants to get in contact with you cause shes been wondering how you are. Now it could be totally because she is interested but its more than likely that shes been thinking about you in that way and wants to get back in touch. Thats what we do, in order to get back in contact, we send a random friendly email.

Doesn't happen very often to me but when it does.. it's kinda shocking. I always try to make my life sound like it's awesome as hell even if it's really not.. I try to act happy even if I'm not. I take it slow though. I just have general conversation and take it from there. I'm not really good in dealing with people I've had problems with in the past.

My ex e-mailed me the other day telling me I was in her dream. I was like wtf? I was thinking, Ok, I may have been in your dream, but considering we haven't spoken for ages why did you tell me that? I wasn't too worried though, because I know she has a bf now and they've just moved in with each other. So she wasn't trying to get back with me or anything. Still makes me wonder what the dream was about. I did ask her if she was sure it wasn’t a nightmare?

Generally if an ex contacts me I'm totally normal with them. If things start getting weird or uncomfortable , I make my excuses, and get myself out of the situation. Thankfully I'm rarely in that situation.

I guess it depends how things ended. With my last 2 exs, things ended nicely so when they send "Hows things?" messages its nice. Nice to know they still care enough to enquire into my well being.
