So i got chatting to my friend at work and it turns out there is a college course starting in September to gain qualifications to be an IT Technician and hopefully i'll be able to go.

Its a 2 year course which isn't bad but it does mean i only have to go to work part time and hopefully the welfare office may pay for the course and i may get a grant as well which will hopefully result in me getting my own car at last.


So hopefully in 2 years time i'll be a fully qualified IT Technician and can maybe start up my own little business

I don't think grants exist anymore. You can get a student loan but looking over the stuff I've been doing with the Sixth Formers this week in clearing, grants are no longer in existence.

What kind of course is it? Got a lot of respect for people who go back to college to do better for themselves than a lot of people I know who don't like their job and simply do nothing about it.

Oh yes, if i was to do my own business and say charge £20 a call out fee i'd be able to make £200 a day no problem if i was able to get the business

I got that bored at work i was working it out during calls



And i'm sure she did say a grant but i'll be investigating fairly soon so i'll find out for sure.

Not sure how it is in the UK but in the USA you get very lucky if you become a IT Tech on a 2 year degree.

Speaking as a professional in the business I wish you luck sir....just hope you looked at others doing the same job and found out what their education was.

I myself spent 2 years at a similar college and 4 years at a University not to mention now that my kids are born am considering going back for my Masters.

Maybe different in the Hardware world as opposed to software where I am but just thought i'd mention it.
