I am sort of torn on the subject. I think we need to do something, but with all of the storms and stuff at late, I believe it is more having to do witht he rapture coming soon then global warming.

I don't buy into global warming too much. Yeah it's hot here now, but if you look back in time there are still plenty of times and dates where it has been hotter. It's one of those things that the press gets a hold of to get a good scare going and to sell copies of magazines, papers, or whatever crap they are trying to sell. I'll say that overall we may be a bit warmer, but there are plenty of other periods in history that have had similar issues with storms being worse for a few season, or being wamer a few seasons. Weather patterns like this happen. People are just too near sighted in their research and look into the past that they see a heat trend over the past few years and forget the trends in the larger scheme of things.

Re: Global Warming
Plus weather records don't go back further than, what, 120 years or somewhere around that - I think the world is at least a few thousand years older than weater records ; )

If it's a real enough problem for, like, the smartest people in the world, it's a real enough problem for me. Every day, I'm trying to become a little "greener."
As for Global Warming, I'm of the opinion its a natural cycle but I'm open to other ideas should the evidence come my way. When someone shows me the Ozone readings for the Ice Age and a precise non theorectical model I'll become a believer. At the moment Global Warming doesn't have the stats to back itself up. its a political story for political gain IMO.
Edit - This a quote from a thread called the Inconvenient Truth from a while back but my position remains the same.
Weather records go back further than 120 years. I had to study the difference in them over the centuries in uni. We were studying records done by monks centuries and centuries ago. Global warming is a completly natural effect, but its the 'enhanced greenhouse effect' that is the concern today. Its supposed to happen naturally but is happening at a much faster rate at the moment that its becoming a problem.

I think it is a problem. This is one of the major problems I have with the Republican party. I don't like drilling for oil in Alaska and all that mess. I think they should allocate more funds to speed up the research into alternative fuel technology.

I think it is a problem and something that should be look at more in depth. Just doing a couple of things differently could have a profound effect. But the metior should come before that, so who cares?
