So I just got my first ever loan BY MYSELF. No co-signer no nothing. My First Loan. Isn't there like a parade or something? I mean come on this is huge! >.> Anyway It's a basic student loan, $10,000, full deferral, 6.800% interest rate
And I don't think, you see the places inside me that I find you,
And I don't know, how we separate the lies here from the truth,
And I don't know, how we woke up one day somehow thought we knew,
Exactly what we're supposed to do.
So leave me, at the Roadside,
And hang me, up and out to dry,
Awesome. Now you can pay me back the $9,990 you owe me
What's the exchange rate?

I just got a 30 year mortage agreement (based on valuation) without any guarantor or co-sign. 85k I got.
Sure rub it in >.<

Sorry dude, its not uncommon in the UK for people to be given unsecured loans. Whilst for number crunchers who hate borrowing like me, thisis good because I can buy a house, I know lots of people who have gotten into a shit load of debt.

Why do you need the loan? Car?
It's not too uncommon in the US, but you need to have a decent credit score. In the US, a person's credit score is determined by the length of time at their job, their success rate of paying back previous loans, and the length the loans were open. Before 2007, you could get a loan with a credit score in the 600's (it ranges from 300 - 850) through a sub prime lender like Ameriquest, but you're going to have a higher interest rate, and you'll be stuck with additional costs. With a score above 700, you'll get a decent loan, but you really want a score over 740.
However! Since early to mid 2007, we've seen an absolute fall out in the housing market. HSBC has announced they have a ridiculous amount of past due/foreclosed on housing loans. Ameriquest is struggling to stay in business. Another lender just went out of business last week (American Mortgage, I think?), and because of this, dramatic changes have taken place. Now, don't even bother trying to get a loan if your score is below 700. It's not going to happen. If you can't put down at least 10-20%, you're still not going the loan.
A student loan really isn't that hard to get though. All you really need to be is a student, with a decent GPA, and you'll get approved.
