Area 51

So what is your thoughts on Area 51? What do you think is hiding there? Anything that would make us cry for our moms if we saw it? Or do you think it is just a bunch of non sense and they are hiding nothing?

In 1997 the U.S. Government declassified the existence of Area 51. Unlike much of the Nellis range, the area surrounding the lake is permanently off-limits both to civilians and normal military air traffic. The area is protected by radar stations, and unauthorized personnel are quickly expelled. Even military pilots training in the NAFR risk disciplinary action if they accidentally stray into the exclusionary "box" surrounding Groom's airspace.

Although the guards are armed with M16s, no violent encounters with Area 51 observers have been reported; instead, the guards generally follow visitors near the perimeter and radio for the Lincoln County sheriff. Deadly force is authorized if violators who attempt to breach the secured area fail to heed warnings to halt. Fines of around $600 seem to be the normal course of action, although some visitors and journalists report receiving follow-up visits from FBI agents. Some observers have been detained on public land for pointing camera equipment at the base. Surveillance is supplemented using buried motion sensors and by HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters.

I think it is probably just a facility to build and store experimental military equipment. It is obvious there are some weird things flying around there so this could explain that. They have to keep it top secret for National Security reasons.

How do you think they kept the Stealth Bomber secret for so long?

I agree. If it was something truly cool/terrifying, there is no way that the U.S. government could keep it secret this long.

I don't know a lot of the Area in question, but this makes sense.

Danny also keeps ex members there, so if you really want to know what happened to Miakal and all the others, just keep asking your "questions" and you guys'll end up there too yer hear!!

I tend to agree with Dak as well, the military are always going to be developing new technology for their aircraft and will need a safe haven to test it. And if some of it does look rather strange and unconventional then they'll probably need to keep the pubic away in case they get scared thinking its a UFO.
