Sleep

In light of it being 3:14 am, and my not being able to sleep, I was wondering, what do you guys, if anything, use to help you sleep? Do you take heaps of NyQuil? Sleepin Pill? Milk? Anything?
And I don't think, you see the places inside me that I find you,
And I don't know, how we separate the lies here from the truth,
And I don't know, how we woke up one day somehow thought we knew,
Exactly what we're supposed to do.
So leave me, at the Roadside,
And hang me, up and out to dry,

Re: Sleep

normally I just try and unwind as best I can, with a hot drink whilst listining to some calm easy listining music. Normally puts me in the mood for a sleep. Sometime I used to go for a walk. That helped.

I make some decaf tea and either watch some old Sex in the City DVDs, or read a book. I can rarely go to sleep without unwinding somehow.

Re: Sleep

I go on the computer for a while until my eyes hurt. Sometimes I'll go to bed and pass out quickly if I worked my ass off at the gym.

Re: Sleep

I usually have to have all the lights off. Turn the air conditioner up and get it really cold in the room, and then cover up pretty snugly.

That usually does it for me.

Re: Sleep

When I get off of work I usually can't go right to sleep so I usually read a book if I want to go to sleep right away or just turn on the tv and make sure what I am watching isn't interesting enough to keep me awake much longer.

I woke up at 4:30AM today after going to bed around 1AM. That's only because I'm high as fuck on Tylenol flu medicine.

When I'm ready to sleep, if I need assistance I'll start reading a book. Before I know it, my eyelids will start getting heavy and I'll be asleep in no time. I've woken up to a book on my lap many times.
And now, here it is...your moment of Carlin (12/3/2008)

Violent American movies like Die Hard, Terminator, and Lethal Weapon do very well in places like Canada, Japan, and Europe. Very well. Yet these countries do not have nearly the violence of the United States. In 1989, in all of Japan, with a population of 150 million, there were 754 murders. In New York City that year, with a population of only 7.5 million, there were 2,300. It's bred in the bone. Movies and television don't make you violent; all they do is channel the violence more creatively.

You take that back Jayman! How dare you??

I tend to do the same, just put on some random DVD and I tend to fall asleeo eventually. These days I rarely fall asleep without the tv on.
