Just looked on BTTF.com. The Last Ride is Sept 3, 2007.

My day has been ruined. I'll never make it out there by then....
And now, here it is...your moment of Carlin (12/3/2008)

Violent American movies like Die Hard, Terminator, and Lethal Weapon do very well in places like Canada, Japan, and Europe. Very well. Yet these countries do not have nearly the violence of the United States. In 1989, in all of Japan, with a population of 150 million, there were 754 murders. In New York City that year, with a population of only 7.5 million, there were 2,300. It's bred in the bone. Movies and television don't make you violent; all they do is channel the violence more creatively.

You people have never been to the best theme park n the world. Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia. I grew up at this pleace. It has the most exciting roller coasters all in one park. You won't find a better park.

I'm lucky to live about an hour away from Cedar Point. I end up going there about every year. Totally love it ... I'll ride anything.

I like Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida too. It's a pretty fun place too.

Plus what you can't see is it goes underground too.
Damn, that looks like that drop is straight up and down. I think I would give it a go though. What is always the worst part is the anticipation while waiting in line.

Kings Island in the closest big theme park to me and it is about 3 1/2 hours away. I am going there on Aug 4 though!

Re: Rollercoasters and Theme Parks

I love Theme Parks (as do the "Durdenettes") and agree with the rest of the UK'ers on the board that Alton Towers is by far our finest park in the UK.

Thorpe Park is okay but not as good.

As for America, I've been down to Florida a number of times and love the parks there. My favourite there is Universal's "Islands Of Adventure", though I like the different feel (rides, animals etc) of "Animal Kingdom".

Busch Gardens, as somebody else mentioned is particularly awesome too. Gwazi (I think it's called) is one of my fave rides.....it's a rickety ol' fashioned style of roller coaster but very quick and scary.

Next time I go Stateside I'm planning on going to Los Angeles to see Hollywood but also take in there Six Flags park too.

Re: Rollercoasters and Theme Parks

TD, did you take the wife and kiddies on the Spiderman ride at "Islands of Adventure"? That is a sweet ride. It's a 3D rollercoaster, basically. They spit water at you, ignite real fire, blow wind on you. You are looking through Spiderman's eyes web-swinging through New York. When he falls down towards the ground, so does the car.

Very cool.
