Some interesting(?) "facts"

Well, they're from the internet, so they may not hold up!!
The muscles in your heart have the strength to shoot your blood 10 meters in the air?

Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.

The body’s strongest muscle is our tongue.

A pig’s orgasm lasts 30 minutes!!

Statistically, people are more afraid of spiders than they are of dying.

All polar bears are left handed.

Crocodiles cannot stick out their tongue.

Butterflies taste with their feet.

A cockroach can live 9 days without it’s head. It only dies because it cannot eat.

Humans and Dolphins are the only animals that have sex for pleasure.

A duck’s quack has no echo, and nobody knows why.

Each King on playing cards represent a King in real history:
Spades: King David.
Clubs: Alexander The Great.
Hearts: Charlemagne.
Diamonds: Julius Cesar.

It is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open.

Multiplying 111,111,111 x 111,111,111 = 12,345,678,987,654,321.

Starfish have no brains.

A statue in a park with a soldier on a horse with its 2 feet in the air means the soldier died in combat.
If the horse has only 1 foot in the air, the soldier died of injuries from combat.
If the horse has all 4 feet on the ground, the soldier died of natural causes.

Mosquitoes have teeth.

Thomas Edison was afraid of the dark.

The word "cemetery" comes from the Greek koimetirion which means dormitory.

In ancient England, people could not have sex without consent from the King.
When people wanted to have a child, they had to solicit permission to the monarchy, in turn they would supply a plaque to hang on their door when they had sexual relations.
The plaque read … "Fornication Under Consent of the King" (F.U.C.K).
This is the origin of the word.

When the English settlers landed in Australia, they noticed a strange animal that jumped extremely high and far. They asked the aboriginal people using body language and signs trying to ask them about this animal. They responded with ’’Kan Ghu Ru’’ the English then adopted the word kangaroo. What the aboriginal people were really trying to say was
‘’we don’t understand you’’, ‘’ Kan Ghu Ru’’.

It is impossible to suck your elbow.

During historic civil wars, when troops returned without any casualties, a writing was put up so all can see, which read
"0 Killed".
From here we get the expression "O.K." which means all is good.

80% of the people who read this will try to suck their elbow!

I've tried the elbow thing before, so I'm inoccent there. But I know that the sex for pleasure one is not true, dogs I believe, as well as others, have sex for pleasure too. Birds have been known to be homosexual. Bet you didn't know that!

Re: Some interesting(?) "facts"

From my avid watching of shows such as Braniac: Science Abuse & QI, I can disprove a couple of those.

Ducks quacks definitely do echo. Every single sound in the world will echo. Even just talking to someone in your living room produces an echo, but it is so minimal, it's hard to here. On Braniac, they took a duck into an under road subway, and got it to quack, and recorded the echo. I believe this has also been tested on Mythbusters.

The second one I disagree with is the horseback statue. According to QI, this is an urban myth, and the position of the horse is purely for aesthetic reasons.

Re: Some interesting(?) "facts"

For those who read that, Half Boy didn't see that on Braniac, after reading those facts, he grabbed a duck from his local lake and took it to an underground tunnel to listen to the echo when it quacks.

Re: Some interesting(?) "facts"

I think it also interesting that (a) despite the (?) and the ! and the "" of "facts" some of you have decided to dispell these facts presumably to gain kudos on an internet chat board and try and embellish your own reputations as some kind of "facts" kings!! Shame on all of you.

It is nowhere near as interesting as Giggly (^^^) finally confessing she is a guy though.
