Okay Monkers...time to unite for the common good of...well...me.
My 1 year anniversary is coming up in August, and as per usual, I have no clue what to get my wife. Perhaps some of the old and decrepid guys who are married can offer some ideas of what they have given...what's worked, what hasn't?
And of course to the lovely ladies of Monks, what would you LOVE to get for your first year anniversary if you were married to me? (A dream of you all, I know).
Anyone else have ideas...I'm stumped here.
And now, here it is...your moment of Carlin (12/3/2008)
Violent American movies like Die Hard, Terminator, and Lethal Weapon do very well in places like Canada, Japan, and Europe. Very well. Yet these countries do not have nearly the violence of the United States. In 1989, in all of Japan, with a population of 150 million, there were 754 murders. In New York City that year, with a population of only 7.5 million, there were 2,300. It's bred in the bone. Movies and television don't make you violent; all they do is channel the violence more creatively.
Well I don't know now how much help I can be since my wife and I spent our first anniversary at home since she had just got her VISA approved and we were settling into our new home together.
I gave her a gold necklace, cooked her dinner, basically took care of her the whole day. She basically had me as her personal pamper person or whatever.

Re: 1 Year Anniversary
I'm thinking your wife wants the same thing she had last year, just the night before your wedding. Me.......and lot's of me.
Tell her I'll call.
As for what you need to get her, depending on which of the "traditional or modern" anniversary listings you are following......1st Year is the "Paper Anniversary", so buy her something paper related. Maybe an original copy of the newspaper on the day she was born.
Well, Ive never been married, but when I had my first anniversary with the ex, it was more what he did than the present. He led a trail of roses from my bedroom door to the front room where he was waiting with a present - cant even remember what it was, lol!

Re: 1 Year Anniversary
girls are wierd. give her something shiny and something flowery and she'll probably melt. what about building a specialized photo album or large picture frame w/ pictures, notes, and other paper keepsakes.
but what do you get a guy for 1 yr of dating? I've never bothered to buy anyone else an anniversary gift and I don't know how to start. So help me and Jay please.

Lie nekkid on the bed, get wood, and write "Happy" and "Anniversary" in red lipstick on each side of your todger, squirt some whipped cream on your gonads and nipples and shout "Happy Anniversary.......enjoy" when she gets in. Boy she'll be excited (after the initial bout of vomiting)
