Not just the looks, but also my mannerisms. Needless to say, he's a good looking, fun guy. Har har. The guy is a workaholic, he never stops. He friggin broke his toe last week, yet the next day there he was mowing the lawn as he was limping behind the mower, as my mom said. My dad plays softball on our team still, and he's one hell of a pitcher. We call him the "Grizzled Veteran". Something tells me he doesn't like that nickname much.

He's not actually allowed to talk because if he does, some ridiculous joke will come out of his mouth that doesn't even make sense. He's brilliant though - he's really patient and he gave me my good vision and maths skills. GO DAD.

At home he does absolutely no housework, but does lots of man jobs. He is a bit scary, cause he doesnt say much just looks at you. He never smacked me as a child, but boy those looks and I'd run. He's very sarcastic and aggravating, (one of my best traits). He's great when he gets drunk cause he giggles, and like to make sure everyone else is drunk too. I know he would do anything for me, I love him to bits. |

Growing up, he scared me a little, though really more by looks and stuff than anything else. He did used to smack me, but damn I deserved those ones!! After my Mom passed on when I was 14, we became friends more than anything else, it was just the two of us at home then, and we were very close from then until he died. Obviously, I'd have wanted him alive for many more years, but I am pleased that he lived long enough to see both my children start growing up.

My dad was the hardest working man I have ever known or heard of in my life. He was also the strongest man I have ever known in my life. He was the oldest in his family so he didn't go to college but went straight to work to help his parents financially with his siblings. He worked for thirty six years on the Railroad and during that time he would put in a full day of work and then come home and work some more. He started working for the Railroad in 1951 and at that time, the Railroad was a very physically grueling job. He was an excellent carpenter and he built the house that we now live in. He was a good mechanic and did almost all of our car repairs by himself. He would never give up. He would set his mind that he would be able to do something and nothing would stop him. I learned more from him that I will ever learn the rest of my live I believe. My older brother moved away and went to college so my father and I would work together around the house and we became really close. I miss him terribly.
