The states that would be most likely to secede would be something like California, Texas, Florida, and New York ... they're the only ones really capable of doing so. You realize that if any one of those were to secede it'd almost put you (and I) into immediate bankruptcy? It'd cause an absolute chaos on the stock market front, and put the United States into an almost immediate recession. As often said, when the USA catches an economic cold, the world has a fever. This would be a real bad fever too.

Think FDIC would protect you? Pfff ... it's propaganda at it's best. Your money would be lost, and we'd be back to the barter system.
