A quiz for the day!

Try and avoid the obvious temptation to be Mr Wikipediaspambot and look up all the answrs online, but heres a little quiz to make the day pass quicker.

I'll post the answers tomorrow, though you'll probably all have them 100% right by then!

1) Which country has participated in no wars at all since 1815?

2) What is 1/3 of 1/2?

3) What nation was the first one to give women the right to vote? (and no the answer isn't "The wrong nation"!)

4) If I take 2 apples out of a basket containing 6 apples, how many apples do I have?

5) Name all four US Presidents on Mt Rushmore?

6) Which 3 languages are the Worlds most spoken?

7) It occurs once in a minute, twice in a week and once in a year. What is it?

8) What year did the Vietnam War end?

9) How many miles high is Mount Everest?

10) In what year was the skateboard invented? (no it wasn't invented by Marty McFly)

Re: A quiz for the day!

I'll give this a whirl, and no I didn't cheat...

1) Which country has participated in no wars at all since 1815? Switzerland?

2) What is 1/3 of 1/2? 1/6

3) What nation was the first one to give women the right to vote? (and no the answer isn't "The wrong nation"!) I'll guess USA, but probably wrong.

4) If I take 2 apples out of a basket containing 6 apples, how many apples do I have? 2

5) Name all four US Presidents on Mt Rushmore? Lincoln, Roosevelt, Washington, Jefferson

6) Which 3 languages are the Worlds most spoken? Chinese, English, Spanish

7) It occurs once in a minute, twice in a week and once in a year. What is it? The Letter "E"

8) What year did the Vietnam War end? I'll say 1974

9) How many miles high is Mount Everest? Well, it can't be THAT high..15 miles?

10) In what year was the skateboard invented? (no it wasn't invented by Marty McFly) Well, before 1955. I'll say 1940.
And now, here it is...your moment of Carlin (12/3/2008)

Violent American movies like Die Hard, Terminator, and Lethal Weapon do very well in places like Canada, Japan, and Europe. Very well. Yet these countries do not have nearly the violence of the United States. In 1989, in all of Japan, with a population of 150 million, there were 754 murders. In New York City that year, with a population of only 7.5 million, there were 2,300. It's bred in the bone. Movies and television don't make you violent; all they do is channel the violence more creatively.

Emma will get an extra point for using the word "stonking"
