Visit a City
Name some cities around the world that you would love to visit.
Any specific reasons.....family?.....you've heard the drugs and whores are cheap?........some other reason.
I love NYC for short visits, but there are many European cities, Prague, Budapest, Berlin, Moscow that I've not been to that I would love to. Mainly for historical reasons....but also booze related.
Across the pond, I'd love to go to California and Toronto.
Elsewhere.......I don't know, Rejkavik (in Iceland) sounds great.......those hot spas in freezing weather! Also Sydney, but only if all the Aussies are somewhere else that day.
I would love to travel to any city in Italy, just to try the food and see the buildings, people, etc.
Also, Tokyo would be a fun place to visit, but only for a few days! I couldn't handle much more than that, but would love to see it.
Oh, I'd go to London as well....for what reason? I'm still trying to think of a positive one. Give me a few hours and I'll think up one!
And now, here it is...your moment of Carlin (12/3/2008)
Violent American movies like Die Hard, Terminator, and Lethal Weapon do very well in places like Canada, Japan, and Europe. Very well. Yet these countries do not have nearly the violence of the United States. In 1989, in all of Japan, with a population of 150 million, there were 754 murders. In New York City that year, with a population of only 7.5 million, there were 2,300. It's bred in the bone. Movies and television don't make you violent; all they do is channel the violence more creatively.
Of the places I haven't visited i'd like to visit Barcelona, specifically for the Football. I'd love to see a game at the Nou Camp.
New York, California, Las Vegas are places i've always fancied going to in the US. Along with Toronto in Canada. There's no particular reason for those places they just look like nice places to visit.
1. Las Vegas - I've been there twice, and it's been two of the best weekends in my life
2. Miami (South Beach) - I only went there once, but it was so nice and relaxing. South Beach was a very vibrant city with a ton of culture, which I like
3. Montreal - For the same reasons as Vegas, but not quite as much fun
4. San Francisco - I've had a couple of brief visits while visiting my gf on the West Coast, and I loved it there. I'd like to see more of the city.
5. Pimlico/Baltimore, Maryland - For next year's Preakness!!! Plus, I want to see a baseball game at Camden Yards
Places I haven't been:
In North America:
1. Chicago - I hear this is a really fun town, and I'm dying to watch a game at Wrigley Field
2. San Diego - Beautiful weather, hot women, relaxed lifestyle...what's not to love
3. New Orleans - A city with a ton of culture and lots of fun...as long as you stay in the right areas
4. Toronto - I've heard nothing but great things about this city.
5. Los Angeles - Not for any particular reason...I just feel like I should go there some time
Overseas:
1. London - Seems like a fun place. They speak English, so I can communicate with the locals. Maybe I can check out a soccermatch or something...
2. Sydney, Australia - But I'd be afraid of the plane crashing, Lost-style
3. Dublin, Ireland - To do some hard-core drinking with hardcore Irish drinkers
4. Montenegro - To see where my parents grew up. I hear it's becoming a very popular resort destination
5. Tokyo - From what I've seen in tv and movies, its a lively place, similar to NY. But with a lot more Asian people
Italy/Sicily - See where my family came from, and to just visit
Greece - Looks like a real nice, relaxed place
Spain - food, site seeing
Ibiza - PARTIES/CLUBS
Aruba - heard nothing buy nice things about it
Ireland - for the real guiness experience
Florida - Orlando for parks, Miami and those southern cities for the beaches and hunnies lol
Cali - for the hussle and bussle
