Or at least Britain is. Mad with political correctness. Recently a woman was fined for littering - forthrowing 2 crisps into the gutter. How completely over the top is that?

We also cant say blackboard, it has to be chalkboard in case it offends black people. Some people are fighting to get Christmas renamed as the Winter Festival in case it offends non Christians. They took pictures of different sex couples down from a registry office in case it offended gays.

I am a little split on this kind of thing.

Yes I agree that changing the name of blackboards, traditional seasons (like Christmas) etc is lunacy.

However, I don't like the manner in which the point is needlessly "driven home" by the more overtly racist members of our nation. Groups like the BNP will take this kind of matter and savage our overseas communities for "all of them want to change our country" when in truth only a very small minority of Asians/Indians etc want change in our traditions and mostly they enjoy them themselves (though obviously celebrate them in a different way).

Mostly I think stuff like that which we read is scaremongering in the "popular" press like The Sun or The Daily Mail or any of the other more right wing national papers.

I honestly don't think there is much of a problem and you only have to look at our national comedy shows to see how this comes into play.

For example "Goodness Gracious Me" which has many sketches from Asians/Indians mocking us poor white people and our ways, then you have Sacha Baron Cohen (a Jewish man) ridiculing the ways of Uzbekistan and previously black culture, then you have Little Britain featuring sketches where they mock the way in which Indian and Black people speak.

Oh I know they all hide behind the whole "it's intelligent humour...we all went to University and in truth we're mocking the people who are laughing at us" bullcrap, but I think humour diffuses these situations and it's good to see us all being able to laugh at each other.

So, to sum up Giggles, quit being so racist or pick up your crisp wrappers

If it was crisp wrappers, I could understand it a little more, but 2 CRISPS????? They'll disintegrate in no time and be gone. Yet i think it was £60 she was fined.

As for what youre saying, I think they majority of this country and fine with the differences in culture and religion and yes, we are all able to laugh about it.

In Bradford, Im sure youre aware that we have a high Asian popluation. Just before Christmas comes Dipwali/Divali (sp?). Ill admit that im ignorant in the sense that i dont understand or know what this festival is about. I only know it happens and they have lights up in the town identical to our christmas lights. They celebrate their festival, and then enjoy Christmas afterwards. None of them ever complain that Christmas is 'bigger' so to speak, I want to know who is complaining in order for these idiots to want to change Christmas.

I really can't see anyone getting offended by that. It is a board which is black? Common sence has to prevail in things like this. We are getting far too PC. In some cases it's correct, but renaming christmas the winter Festivle? What are the Aussies going to call it? Summer Festivle?

Some chalkboards are green. If it's black, then call it a blackboard, who cares. But renaming christmas to please non christians is rediculous! If you're not christian, then you shouldn't be celebrating it. I don't like chakanakua, or what ever jew holiday is, it should be renamed, holiday of the tradition of lighting candles for eight nights to remember the history of the oil lamp with one nights oil lasting 8 nights. Is that PC enough for you?

sensitivity to these kinds of things are ridiculous. It's gotten to the point where I do not care if someone gets offended. They can just get over it and stop being a whiny faggot. That comment is directed at some people on this board too.
