It's funny you mention this...my best friend John and Stephanie broke up about 2 months ago now. Steph's best friend Amanda, who we're are all friends with, now lives in Ohio. She invited us down this coming up weekend to see her, but didn't invite Stephanie (still with me...?)

So John calls her up the other night and says, "I am going to kiss you this weekend." He had a crush on her even when he was dating Stephanie, so this weekend shall be interesting, to say the least.

Honestly, I agree with the above that there should be some sort of window of time (3 months? 6 months?) before you move in on a friend's ex-girl/guy. Going right for them after a breakup shows you don't care at all for your friends feelings. If it doesn't seem right, the general rule should be to just step away and go for someone else.

Violent American movies like Die Hard, Terminator, and Lethal Weapon do very well in places like Canada, Japan, and Europe. Very well. Yet these countries do not have nearly the violence of the United States. In 1989, in all of Japan, with a population of 150 million, there were 754 murders. In New York City that year, with a population of only 7.5 million, there were 2,300. It's bred in the bone. Movies and television don't make you violent; all they do is channel the violence more creatively.
