Insurance

So I just interview with a job where they are not offering benefits. Has anyone worked for a copmany that did not cover insurance? How did you handle it. Was getting your own plan expensive? Was it a hassle? Should I keep looking for another position?

Yea, on your own it is probably ridiculous how much they chage. I pay 18.50 or so a week, i have to pay 15% of what it costs.

Not really ... it depends on the job and the place. Being young, it'll probably be real cheap for you ... far cheaper than what you'd pay for with a company, because then you're paying the group rate, which includes all the old bags like Bulldog.

Seems strange that the place isn't offering health insurance. Most employers offering full time positions offer it, but it does become burdensome.

Re: Insurance

It's shiity that they are not, they feel that it's too expensive. The guy I interviewed with has been trying to get his people some coverage for a while. He also said to use the lack of health care as a negotiation. Have them pay for some of the package.

I am having an insurance provider send me some packages. He said i could get a good deal for around $106/ month for medical and dental. So it doesn't sound too bad.

I am really sick of my current job and really want out. This one would be a good fit for me.

I am 25, have no dependents or spouses, so this does not sound like that bad of an idea.
