This is one of the stupidest moves I've heard of, it may sell some comics initially but they are going to alienate some of their fanbase doing stuff like this. This is no Hawkeye we are talking about, Cap is an icon of comics in general. I've never been keen on Marvel's "Kill to sell issues" policy and this just ups the ante for me. I'm going to start boycotting Marvel if they keep this garbage up.
well ive been reading the civil war books, and cap is the main guy for the team who do not agree with it. So him getting killed is a huge deal. Im not sure if they will bring him back. I was reading that the age is different now and they wont just kill superheroes and bring them back, but who knows. I think this is a good thing for marvel cause comic book sales are slipping and they need something for peopel to talk about, but he was a favorite. So i guess we just have to wait and see what happens...
World War 2 was a long time ago. Cap has gotten old. They kill him off, and bring in a new young man, from the war that is currentlu going on to be the New Captain America. So really, it's no big deal =)
im not sure if any of you are aware of the current marvel civil war storyline, (very good btw) but there are two sides. Cap was on the side who does not agree with everyone knowing your idenity and what not. So myabe he faked his own death so he can get a new idenity? hmmmmm
yeah i understand, its like killing of a peter parker or a bruce wayne.. A new name just wouldnt be the same.
Actually, both Peter Parker and Bruce Wayne have been killed off before in their comics..they were replaced by someone new, and it's just not the same.
And now, here it is...your moment of Carlin (12/3/2008)
Violent American movies like Die Hard, Terminator, and Lethal Weapon do very well in places like Canada, Japan, and Europe. Very well. Yet these countries do not have nearly the violence of the United States. In 1989, in all of Japan, with a population of 150 million, there were 754 murders. In New York City that year, with a population of only 7.5 million, there were 2,300. It's bred in the bone. Movies and television don't make you violent; all they do is channel the violence more creatively.
