My lowest point in life was when I was in what I like to call my "dark days"; Which included such fun things as: trying different drugs (E, Crack, poppin Ritlin, ect) waking up at 7pm then going to bed at 7am, paranoid of the people around me, and losing TONS of weight (went from 250 to 185 pounds). What got me outta it was rehab. I learned of the 12 steps of recovery and they taught me that I wasent alone in addiction, that there are tons of people around this world with the same problem as me. Even though I still have the occasional drink and still smoke pot, Im doing a hell of a lot better then I use to be.

I have 2 really. 1st: Having our house repossed a week before my 18th birthday was a big problem i faced. The way i got over it was taking some time away and went to visit my aunt as at that time i couldn't really stand being around my parents after that happened. We all got over it and now live happily in Sunderland. 2nd: Getting fired from my job and then being unemployed for over a year. I'd never been sacked from my job before and i still don't really think it was fair but thats life. Finally got a job last week which i started today and enjoyed it although it was only for a couple of hours today, it was nice to be interacting with a group of people {all women may i add }As for Luke & Chewy, its always good to hear about the people that have recovered instead of all the people that unfortunatly pass away due to drugs or drink.

That is something that you never really get over, but what has kept me going is my family I would say. Also going back to school since my Dad always told me he wanted me to get a College Education. I started posting at JVN just after that happened as well. I think that helped keep my mind off of things.

My father is unfortunately closing in on those years where I don't know how much longer he will be around... of course, you never know when the time is going to come.... I can't really think of one particular low point. There hasn't been too many thankfully. I would say one would be my wife's mother's passing, which she was like my own mother, and she died at a young age. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on January 30, 4 years ago, and two days later, she died. Another time was when my father suffered three major strokes within a week or two, and almost passed away. It's all about the support system you have around you. I feel sorry for people that don't open themselves up to develop good friendships with others, because if you don't have good friends, and a supportive family, it's pretty tough to get through those lows in your life. If you keep it all in, you just do more harm than good. I still have a few things that have occurred in my life, that no one.. and I mean no one, would ever hear about. It's unfortunate, I don't know anyone, including my own wife, that I would feel comfortable discussing them with. As for you Chewy, congrats on your day by day progress to a new life. Again, sad but true, just last year, my wife's brother died... He died from a seizure, but it was brought on from drug abuse. He was taking 20-30 vicodin a day, smoking weed, crack, heroin... pretty much whatever he could get his hands on, and it caught up with him... It's not the immediate damage you have to worry about, it's the long term damage that gets you. Good to hear you took the right steps in getting your life back on track.

I deal with problems pretty well, so I'm able to get through situations without as much trouble as some. I'm going to post one that most people would never consider a low point, but I do a little bit. Spring of 2005, I'm running my own business www.sonataweb.net, the local brand, Innovative Media. Business is absolutely great, I've got my own small office with a 4 employees. It's growing at a rate, where literally several months in a row my client numbers were doubling. Unfortunately, what I am I? A guy that HAS almost no business experience, limited knowledge, and a business that operates on pretty small margins, so it's not like I can afford to hire someone. The accounting books are an absolute mess, the services are still great, but that's only due to me working 20 hours a day and some really really devoted employees. As such, I became the business - there was no outside life, I was always irritable, I didn't really sleep because I was always thinking about possible problems. Finally one day I got a job offer from a client to join their management staff, so I went around, found a buyer who was really worse off than I was, but they were willing to fork up some cash. Signed the papers in June and here I am - loving the 9-5 job.

He went downhill over a couple years, he had something like a mini stroke, called a TIA or something like that. He ended up in a coma for a week or so, and the doctors said that it would be best to pull the plug, but then realized they gave him the wrong meds and he came out of it, went to rehab, and lived another year. Other than that, I was lonely and depressed, but 3 years and 53 days ago, me and my GF started going out, and my life got better. We have our problems, but who doesn't?
