Has TV/Movies influenced your speak?

Has a phrase or word occured so much on tv, that you unknowingly incorporate it into your normal everyday vocabulary?

For me, i used to always say "aboot" as a joke from the South Park movie, but ive said it so much now, that i cant actually say the word about in normal chat. Its always aboot.

Ive also noticed i say "bowling shoe ugly" a lot now. What aboot u?

P.S Thread title shows that it has affected my grammar
I wish my sex life was like ECW, first you get a One Night Stand followed by 2 months of nostalgic orgasms and then 6 months of constant sucking.

Re: Has TV/Movies influenced your speak?

Good subject, I like this one.

Definitely the answer is yes. I think Friends did this to me a little (as in Chandler's "could I be more annoying) in the style of overaccentuating the wrong words in a sentance.

I think I drop a bit of Simpsons in there as well too. Especially at home since the kiddies love that programme too.

There could be a bit of wrasslin in there, but it's more likely just the "faux" Bill and Ted speak from E&C coming out occasionally.

I pick up little idiosyncratic phrases from TV - "For funsies" off Scrubs is one that springs to mind. And "Kiss My Ring" as well, also from Scrubs.

I find myself quoting Sex and the City sometimes, but as no-one in real life or on here but Erin seems to watch this show, it goes unnoticed.

I often find myself talking like Joe Pesci, telling people I will kick the everloving shit out of them and whatnot.

Half Boy is CONSTANTLY quoting Scrubs so I've picked up on it too. And I say a lot of stuff that Peter Kay has said...like I always say t'internet instead of internet.

Re: Has TV/Movies influenced your speak?

For a long time during the 80's my friends and I used to quote Bill & Ted with the whole "Excellent!" thing and the air guitar.

Recently i've found myself quoting Norbit (The Eddie Murphy movie) and going "I can't be mad at you though....Heyyyy"

Nothing else comes to mind though.

I like using Jog On when someone is annoying me, which came from Hot Fuzz.

And i've recently been telling everyone to Get Bent which i think is from the simpsons.

I started using the words "cocksucker" and "cunt" a lot more after watching Deadwood

The word "goomah" (a mistress) has also made its way into my daily speak, thanks to the Sopranos

Re: Has TV/Movies influenced your speak?

I totally quote movies and tv shows, but they are usually very obscure references.
