Lee and Teresa Sipple spent $1200 to mount three video cameras and a radar speed unit outside their Bartow County home.

The couple intended merely to harass neighbors into slowing down outside their home until they caught a Kennesaw police officer Richard Perrone allegedly speeding past at 12 to 17 MPH over the speed limit. After Sipple informed Bartow County officials, a police deputy arrived to inform the couple that Perrone intended to charge them with stalking.

On Wednesday, a judge will decide whether to accept Perrone's warrant to have the couple arrested. Under state law, stalking is a misdemeanor for the first offense and a felony carrying up to ten years in jail for a second.

How is that in any way fair?

Reminds me of that time a officer cut me off and then turned it around on me and gave me a seat belt ticket to cover his Candy Ass.

Or yesterday a cop driving along doing at least 70 mph without there lights on.

The police are allowed to do speed a little, simple as that. I don't think the couple should be charged with stalking though.

I thought the law stated that all emergency service vehicles had to follow traffic law, unless they had either their lights on, or lights and sirens.

Nope because emergency service vehicles are expected to travel without lights and sirens in unsociable hours so they have blanket exception unless they are doing something strange like driving without due care and attention. There was a copper 6 months ago who got away with doing 150mph on a motorway because he was covered by law.

I have a lot of respect for the police, people soon change their tune when their wife is being raped or their house is being burgled. All of a sudden the police become very popular people.

Well, the couple admitted that they intended to harass their neighbors. I know if that couple did it to me, I would tell them to fuck off.

You gotta remember that it's the south, so if the neighbors had found out previously, the couple probably would have been shot dead.
