Re: What do you plan on giving up for lent?

Not giving anything up since I have given up my catholic roots I do not feel the need to give up anything to someone I do not even know existed (I speak of god I know jesus existed at the very least).

And what's the point in this modern society to even attempt to give up anything we all know we are going to break it and what's the point it's not like the small things we give up merit anything really right?

Like 40 is a super religious day in the bible, from jesus being in the desert for 40 days to the 40 years in the desert with Moses to I believe elijah...he did something with 40 days or years or months, but considering how much those guys gave up and how little we give up it's meaningless.

So unless you are goign to give up all your posessions travel with nothing in a desert waste land for 40 days to try and immitate what your saviors did...what's the point in my eyes?

I also hate the roman catholic church so my views are extremely biased.

Don't give up anything. Rise up against the establishment! You should be taking instead.

I'll give up fast food.

No Whoppers or Big Macs (or Gorditas, sadly..) for me for 40 days.

Do you have a problem with my sig?
