I do not believe that people are born homosexual. I believe that something happens to them along the way be it abuse of some sort, or something tragic happening in their lifes that makes them think that way. Of course this would have to take place in their mental developing as a child. *Therefore my argument is that being in a situation where one would have "parents" of the same sex it would be quite confusing to some children and who knows what the repricussions might be. *The preceeding opinion is that of Dakstang. It does not mean that it is the opinion of the owner/operators of Monks and their sponsors. Thank you.

Gay marriages to me are a slap in the face to us a society, as marriage is and always has been between a woman and man and is a religious and spiritual thing. Be together abut don't call it marriage... However... should someone decide to live this lifestyle then I will not judge them and will treat them the same as anyone else. Therefore whould they have the right to have children, yes. I think you have to look at it as case to case as some who live an unstable lifestyle should not be fit, but that is for straight couples as well. But if the couple clearly influences the sexual orientation then I believe it is wrong.

Slim =:banned: :banned: :banned::banned:. PLEASE DD listen to my request and get him off my back. Anyway, this is a tough topic in my opinion. I think the child has a good chance of growing up in a different type of household, which could influence how he acts later in life. Not to mention how she/he will be treated in school if classmates find out how is he being raised. I think in the end, it really could damage the kid, but at the same time if a couple (ANY couple) is willing to adopt when the need to is so great, it's tough to turn away anyone. So to conclude all that, I'm not sure how to handle this...
| And now, here it is...your moment of Carlin (10/13/2008) Anything but the Present America has no now. We're reluctant to acknowledge the present. It's too embarrassing. Instead, we reach into the past. Our culture is composed of sequels, reruns, remakes, revivals, reissues, rereleases, re-creations, reenactments, adaptations, anniversaries, memorabilia, oldies radio, and nostalgia record collections. World War II has been refought on television so many times, the Germans and Japanese are now drawing residuals. Of course, being essentially out of shit, we sometiems feel the need to dress up this past preoccupation, as with pathetic references to reruns as "encore presentations". | ||

I don't agree with your opinions or beliefs at all (you'd be disappointed if I did!) but I do like it when people tell why they say stuff on here and give some explanations to "flesh it out" a little. Respect to you and your misguided soul (j/k) XX

These tests include financial means, social environment, personality, knowledge of chidren - all sorts. If any couple can pass all these tests and prove themselves able to care for a child then in my opinion it shouldnt matter whether it is a gay or a straight couple. They wouldnt love it and care for it any less.

Rep Power: 14 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If the parents are fit to raise children, then yes, there shouldn't be laws stopping gays from adopting. Just look at all the heterosexual parents out there, that adopt, foster or who have kids the natural way that abuse and murder and torture their kids. Just because you're straight doesn't mean you're a good parent.
