Childhood punishments

What was yours? Did you have various degrees of punishment depending on what the severity of your wrong doing was, or just one consistent punishment? Maybe you never were punished at all, either a perfect child or had hippy parents, I don't know!

Did they work? Did they make you a more rounded individual? Or do they just explain now your rather weird fondness for being spanked.

Of course, not all punishments are physical, maybe yours was mental!!

Well, I was a fairly well behaved child, but they just grounded me, meaning no going out except for school, whenever i did something wrong.

My brother used to shout and scream so when he was being an ass they looked him between the inner and outer door until he calmed down. He soon learned that screaming never got him anywhere, except locked up! ;)

I was very well behaved. I used to get smacked (light taps on the ass) when I was very young, but I soon learned!!

I got smacked when I did something really really wrong. I think kids these days need to be disciplined more instead of parents being worried about laying a finger on them.

I think exactly the same thing! It never harmed us, just taught us that if you do something wrong, then you'll be punished for it!

Kida as young as 6 are saying to my Mum (who works in a school) "You cant hit me, cause Ill sue you!"

True. But having said that. Teachers should not be allowed to lay a finger on the students anyway. Not even a light tap. Its not their role, and technically, the kid has all the right to sue.

I agree with Emma, people are too worried about what "society" will think if you discipline your child.

As a kid, I got spanked when I misbehaved. It worked, I was sent to my room for about 3 hours, and looked out the window until my dad came home from work, then got a harsh yelling from him before I could come out and play again.

Of course, I got spanked last night as well, but those were completely different circumstances and since this isn't the 18+ forum, I will refrain from posting pictures of the "adventure".

This reminds me of when I was feeding my two daughter at the Sports Centre cafe once upon a long ago. My wife was at work, and it was just me. My eldest was about five and was eating fine, but my youngest (about 2) was sitting there spooning the food in and slopping it straight back out again.

Eventually, I was getting pissed off with this (no foot = baby waking up later) so I lost my rag a little and held her hand and tapped it. Please don't construe this as done with any force or a smack, it was a light tap to tell her as she wasn't listening to do as she was told, which would usually be followed by her welling up (not actually crying) but then eating her lunch.

Anyhoo.....this happens, just as this woman (about ten years older than I...so about 145) walked past with her three children. She stopped, as her children walked past, and looked down at me shaking her head and tutting. To which I (being a complete noble gentleman) mouthed the words "fuck off" straight back at her. It was a rational solution to an irrational problem. Of course, I didn't do this with any of the children watching.

When I tell my wife stuff like this she also says it surprises her, she says "you're so nice and yet sometimes you do horrible things!!"
