| Job offers! I'm in a really interesting position. One that despite how nice it is, I HATE! In the past two days, I've received two new job offers, to go along with 1 that's "sitting" on the table for about the past two weeks. Don't get me wrong, I love knowing that people want to hire me. But, I'm tempted to take each of these positions, because they're all great jobs no doubt, but I also have a great job now. Here's a break down of each job; Current Job: Financial Industry - Cleveland, Ohio - Inc. 500 Company - Growth rate over 800% in the past 3 years - Great corporate culture - I like the job, and I'm liked at it. - Close to family and friends. Job Offer 1: Startup VoIP Company - Houston, Texas - Backed by one of the largest web hosts world wide. - Guaranteed great salary, and one of the top management positions - Working with a former colleague of mine and great friend. - Management is around my age, some good guys Job Offer 2: New Hosting Brand - Atlanta, Georgia - Solid backing by a current web host - Brand is in a new up and coming market, that'll target large companies - Don't know much about the owner. Seems like a cool guy though. Job Offer 3: Vice President/Planning/Growth Guy - New York City, New York - Smaller web host having some troubles, but still solid foundation - The most challenging, but gives me the most freedom. - Would be able to work from home most of the time. - Lowest salary of them all, but the best spot. See what I'm talking about! I really want to put myself in a position with a company where I can grow with it. If I found myself in the right company, I don't think I'd ever quit; I'd retire with it. But, what's frustrating is I can't predict the future. I don't know what's going to happen next month at any of these places, so it's really hard to make the decision that I feel is best. | |||||||||||||||

| I would suggest just sticking with your current company. You like your job, it's close to your friends and family, ad the company appears to still be growing. | ||||||||||||||

| The job you have now does seem like a best bet, but are you sure that you're not going to get itch feet any time soon? If you suspect you might, then offer 1 sounds good! | |||||||||||||||

| If you were thinking of moving jobs I’d go with the 'Job Offer 1: Startup VoIP Company.' Seems like a good set up, great job opportunity, and you already know someone there. If you want to be challenged, and are up for some hard work then Job option 3 would be a good one for you to go for. But you said it's a small company and the salary isn't as good as the others, so that could put a black mark against it for you. Don't be afraid of change. Some people are, and they're stuck in the same job for years, and look back and regret the opportunities they turned down in pervious years. I think it's good to go out and experience different companies in action - especially at a young age. You've got plenty of time to settle down into a job where you'll end up working until you retire. If you do stick with the job you have now, don't let it be because of convenience or laziness... make sure you stick to it for the right reasons. (Just trying to give you another point of view - as opposed to the easy answers of staying in your current job) | |||||||||||||||
