I've become pretty good friends with a guy from Romania lately. He's been in the USA for about 2 years, and in the Cleveland area for about a year. Anyway, a group of us were talking about the Loose Change video, and the conspiracies about the government. When he finally got the chance to talk, he gave us all a real eye opener. I paraphrase what he said;

"C'mon, you all are acting ridiculous. You live in the greatest country in the world, and have nothing to fear. In my country we deal with real political corruption, there is no enforcement of the laws, there's nothing. People fend for themselves. In America you at least have the chance to make something of yourself, and if you don't, you can only blame it on yourself."

It just really showed me, how much we do take for granted. We have so many freedoms that some people could only wish to have, and never will experience due to the supression that they face from their country's "leaders."

I also found it especially interesting because it's not as if Romania is one of those third world countries, or one that you hear of all the time. It's what we consider to be "civilized."
