Well I don't support the President because of his religious beliefs. Why should his religious beliefs be the beliefs of the whole fucking country? Shouldn't he take into account all the people who do not believe that he is carrying out God's mission but just his own ego to make sure he is known throughout history as the president who started one war, and possibly a couple more in eight years? Also the fact that he has not ruled out a nuclear option. Fuck him.

Well, people that do agree with his religous beliefs can, and did vote for him. And he got elected so that should tell you something. It is what the majority of Americans want.

He didn't get elected in 2000, he was awarded the Presidency by the Florida Supreme Court(which gave further proof that the electoral college system doesn't work anymore).

If you don't understand what you're talking about, here's a suggestion, don't talk about it. The Florida State Supreme Court simply certified that the several recounts that had taken place were correct. The only reason why there were recounts in the first place however, was simply due to the fact that Florida state law requires recounts when elections are within 1,000 votes of each other. Had the Florida State Supreme court not made the decision then, we would be stuck in a moronic legal process that would have wasted the minds of the American's, where there would be in a deeper division than what the Civil War caused. Even through each recount Bush won the election in Florida, by a minimum margin of 500 votes, maximum over 1,000. The difference in the numbers is what much of the controversy was over; "hanging chads." The hanging chads, and the voting counting process was the only defense the Gore Administration had when fighting for their candidate.

The electoral college in my opinion is also brilliant. By using the electoral college, candidates can't focus on simply one area, such as California. If it weren't for the electoral college, you would rarely see a presidential candidate campaign elsewhere in the United States besides California, simply due to the high population. To put it bluntly, California's population is higher than the lowest 26 electoral college districts (including DC). By using the electoral college, you're able to limit the amount of power one single portion of the United States has. You could almost say it's another form of "checks and balances."
