There's a reason the United States has never had an official language for this long. Do you really and honestly think it's never been considered before?

The United States was designed for change from the start. If this was going to be England part 2 then the founding fathers would've included English as the official language. We're not French, we're not English; we are a mix of cultures.

How are going to like it when Latins are the majority and want to change the law to fit them? It's going to suck and you're going to wish you stuck to the intention of our Founding Fathers.

I agree with GP, too. The Republicans can't seem to get enough of damaging themselves. Fine by me.

This is what the majority of Americans want. California is a lost cause to the Republican party and has been for quite some time. The Republican party will continue to appeal to the South which won them the last two Presidential elections. That is all.

Do the Republicans ever win California? No.

I think the last time they won California was when President Reagan was elected and that was because he was from California. The Republicans have won the last two elections without California.

And typically when an American talks about the South it is usually known to all that they mean the Southern East Coast. If I were referring to California, Arizona, New Mexico for example I would have the South West.
