Noone cooks as well as my mother. Well my ex bf's dad came close to it he made the best stuff ever but it was soo unhealthy!

My cousin actuallycooks better than my mother. She makes wicked Italian food (she spent 5 years in Italy) and pretty good Filipino food too. My mother cooks once in a while and most of the time we get take out, b/c she's too lazy to cook.

Our national dish now is Chicken Tikka Masala. I don't think it would be true to say Brits have something against spices, quite the opposite. It is true of people that seem to be of the older generations. Spices weren't really popular in English food till the 70's
