| Radar Detectors Does anyone have one for their car? Or have a recommendation? I don't necessarily speed a whole lot, or drive completely wrecklessly, I just like knowing when a cop is following me, especially late at nights. I know a few friends who will have cops ride their butt, and then when they speed to sort of "give themselves some distance" the cop flicks on their lights. Dirty trick that I want to win at. | |||||||||||||||

| Yes, I most definitely have a radar detector. I had to get one since I got a couple of speeding tickets and had 8 points against my license. You only have to 12 in W.V. and then they take your license for a while. So the one that I have and the one that I recommend is the Passport Escort. There are several different models of them now, but I have had mine for about 2 years and I gave about $250 for mine and it has paid for itself many times over. | I know they are legal in Rhode Island and maybe Blitz can help me out on this one but I believe they are illegal in Connecticut. | ||||||||||||||

| I usually don't go over 10 mph of the speed limit only because I don't see the point in speeding. I do have one speeding ticket to my name for going 70 in a 55 and that was when I was passing people who were probably going 55 so it looked like I was going 90. | ||||||||||||||

| The fastest I ever got caught going was 81 in a 65. I didn't get a ticket for that one though. The most expensive ticket I ever got was for doing 73 in a 55 and it cost me $169.00 and 5 points off of my license. Ouch. | |||||||||||||||
