Minnesota
Michigan(although it will be legal starting in June)
New York
Indiana
Kentucky
Florida

That is what I have always heard. I got pulled over in Kentucky before with a radar detector and they never said anything. I think the info you found Mr. Kennedy is for commercial vehicles or something.

My mistake, I missread that. Those are the states where scanners are illegal.

Your are right that radar detectors are only illegal in Washington DC and and Virginia.

Depends
Interstate highways: 55-65 mph (sorry don't know my kilometers)
States Roads: 25-50 mph (depending on if they are through the woods or towns)

Ahh well its 70mph here in Britain, But most areas can range from 30 - 60 . For some reason i thought the us had a much lower speed limit than us! I wonder who has the highest or the lowest..

WEll just reading up and it certain places in Germany its 80mph or no speed limit on the Autobahns :O . Imagine the open road and driving as fast as you like!

I'm not sure if I would want to do that, i'd be nervous driving around people doing 100+ MPH.

Being able to drive as fast as you want would be great. But as Mr. K. said, it would make me nervous driving around people doing over 100 mph when I see people every day that cannot drive safe at 55 mph.

I think that the U.S. should have a special license that would allow people to drive faster than the set speed limit. They could develop some classes and tests and give a special license for those people that show proficiency and safety driving at high rates of speed, thus letting them drive faster than normal people. I would be the first one to enroll.
