Holidays can blow me

I hate holidays.

It's not just the basic loneliness of it all. Nor is it the issue of having a family which is worthless.

There's just this dead feeling around a holiday. Is anyone with me? Everything is closed. All my friends are with their family, girlfriends, boyfriends, whatever. There's nothing to do but dwell and get drunk.

Who is with me? Come on. :banana:

We need to invent our own holidays. I have a few ideas.

Easter's a pretty tame holiday round these parts. I don't know why, I but I always enjoy my Easter-weekend-Saturday. I love that it holds no importance, no significance, stores are always open. A day where I can get something done.

Though today all I did was read. :ermm:

I read most of The Game by Neil Strauss, which I bought myself for Christmas and only finally opened up. It's pretty OK. It reminds me a lot of *gulp*... you. But you know the book I'm talking about so you shouldn't be too surprised.

I also tried to read Dylan's Chronicles Pt. 1, but I think I'm really gonna have to be in the mood.

I'm not big on holidays anymore either. My parents are divorced and my Father's side of the family is pretty worthless, except for him.

On my Mom's side I really like them all but its tough because the only people on that side that are in my age group all live in Missouri. The oldest young person other then me here in Connecticut would be 16-years old. I'm 23.

This is why I never hang out with anyone from my family.

Oh yeah Blitz, I'm sort of the same way. I like most of my extended family, but when my parents split up my mom moved us all the way the fuck out here in BC, provinces away from anyone else I'm related to. Every once in a while someone flies out, or I see family when I visit my dad in Toronto, but mostly it's a nice and secluded left coast.
