It's small ice particles that are unseen in the water. Jesus could've easily stepped in one area of ice while another wasn't ice.

However, if you read what the scientists say in full detail it's unlikely. This only happened at certain times and in certain locations in that area. This article is merely saying that around that detail sometimes there would be conditions which would result in freezing.
Did anyone read my post? What I said was that if it were only Jesus that had walked on water that could have been a plausible theory. But he called his disciple to come to him out on the water. The disciple walked out onto the water and when he took his eyes of Jesus and realized what he was actually doing then he began to sink. How could he be walking on ice and then begin to sink? That makes no sense.

PS. I wasn't saying you were wrong with your first post here Dak. Rather I was pointing out how the whole news topic is garbage. Some sheets of ice may have been around during the time of Jesus around the same area. This news article isn't even about Jesus really, they just linked the two together to get people to read it.

Perhaps he stood on it, water started to pour ontop of it from the sides like a sinking boat, and the whole thing took him down.

But my main point isn't the sheet of ice being physically possible or not. This article is mostly crap.

Well I agree that the article is crap, but your explanation of the walking on water is crap too. The disciple would have known if he was walking on ice. He was clearly not. And how did Jesus keep from sinking? Was he on more solid ice? That is too convenient of an explanation.

Obviously they would've been on different sheets of ice as one seems rather unlikely.

It may be convenient but it's in the realm of possibility.

I believe miracles were made up to highlight jesus and make him see immortal to widen and attract more people to christianity.
There was also a story like this a few years back, which said when moses apparently parted the red sea to escape eygypt ( i think it was Egypt)
There was a huge tidal wave first which would have drawn the sea back for a few minutes. But that would have to be some good timing.
