DALLAS -- A North Dallas man charged with detonating homemade explosives told NBC 5 Tuesday that he simply liked the sound of the blasts.

Arson investigators arrested Phillip Daniels Tuesday for allegedly causing a series of small explosions around the Haverly Place apartments on Haverwood Lane.

They said the 42-year-old likely caused up to five blasts during a two-week period.

Daniels told NBC 5 he that he detonated the makeshift explosives because he liked the sound they made.

Officials said no one was hurt in connection with the explosions, but the blasts have left neighbors terrified.

"These bombs are so loud that they're shaking apartments around us ... it's shaking them," Rhonda Butler.
