Legal drinking age...

Alright, I just turned 19 a few months ago but everyone knows I've been drinking all throughout highschool, including my parents, and not one person I know hasn't been drinking before. Even kids in jr high have at least experienced it once!
This leaves me to wonder that has any normal/healthy person actually waited to turn the legal drinking age to have their first taste of alcohol....what do you think?

I'm 19 and never drank before. Several of my friends have never drank before either. I think more people should wait considering the effects it can have on your body when you're still young, but you will never be able to stop every underage person from drinking.

I don't think kids should really wait until the legal age, not if they want to try it or just mess around.

However, I kind of wish the image of getting "smashed" wasn't so popular with such a younger people. I mean, 14 year olds shouldn't be drinking vodka or everclear or shit like that....at all. If they want a few beers and are just fucking around, fine, but there's kind of this push to just destroy yourself which is unfortunate. Like Spyke said, for younger people this can fuck up your body. I also think it fucks people up mentally quite a bit.

i agree with miakal for the first time...belive it or not....i think if they drink when they are really young it makes it worse when they are older because it takes them more to get drunk and then it leads to drinking more than anyone around you... that is not a good thing...

I first started drinking when I was 17, but I didn't really start drinking all the time until I was 20 or 21. Legal Drinking age sucks.

i just saw an ad about this today on a bus. you are 4x more likely to be alcohol dependent if you drink regularly before you turn 21 then if you wait til you turn 21. i can see ddrinking once in a while underage but not like 3 times a week or shit like that.

I think the drinking age is reasonable.
